Honestly I believe that every year has its share of natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods and Hurricanes. I tried to stir away from that exercise unless the event ends up being shocking (like the Katrina desaster in New Orleans) or out of the ordinary (Tchernobyl nuclear desaster).
Predicting a new tsunami in the Thailand region is not a great accomplishment due to the area’s tendancy for attracting those devastations. Same is true for earthquakes in California (it rocks every day in the entertainment capital!) unless it is involving Los Angeles in a big way (see my earthquakes prediction for this area)!
So the only thing I am going to write in this chapter of world desasters for 2010 is what I believe will define that particular year, and in this case it will be one major health desaster:
I foresee a major situation (pandemic or epidemic of devastating consequences, leading to great numbers of deaths) by the end of spring or early summer in a familiar region of the world (possible up and coming country -somewhere in China or South America?) that will lead to quarantine and isolation (no travel by air or else) until the situation is under control. We may hear and see some shocking images on the news media and ‘desperation’ will be the key word. Help will be late to arrive, supplies won’t be enough etc…I hope I am wrong…
Since we have been having more stress here in California about earthquakes, I am posting the original prophecy (inserted in 2009 prophecies) in 2010 (as a reminder) as this is the only prophecy meant to happen in a couple of years or so.

The city of Los Angeles will not experience any devastating earthquake for another 4 years (this prediction is made on December 2008!). However during the 5th year, a major devastating event will take place. The coming of a new charactere (a woman) as being a significant player in the city of Los Angeles (mayor?) will be the timeline. Two major earthquakes greater than 6.4 will take place that year of her coming. Each earthquake will be few weeks or months apart but will take place between December 2012 and December 2013. The devastation will be such that the entire design and make up of the town will be changed for a long time. It may take two years or more for the city to repair or fix the long term side effects of such shakes.
NOTE:
I went to double check when would be the next mayor election in LA. It is set on March 3rd, 2009! They hold office for 4 years…The next election will be on March 3rd, 2013!!!! Coincidence?!
To all of you who live in L.A., if a woman comes on the scene as a possible mayor candidate few months before the official election, I would pack my bag as it seems that her fate and L.A.’s fate are linked in those earthquakes’ predictions.
If she wins, time to go live at your vacation home for a while and see what happens. I will surely pay attention to this prophecy part because I am very curious to see if a woman is going to run in 4 years but also because I live here!!!

Update (Feb 26, 2009): the race for L.A. mayor for 2009 got started. Wendy Greuel is running for controller of the city of Los Angeles. It is usually a stepping stone for positioning yourself to run for mayor later on…So we have possibly our woman and if she gets that position, we need to pay very close attention to that prophecy! Specially if she runs for mayor in 4 years!
03/04/2009: Wendy Greuel was elected city controller with a very large margin. We also will have the same mayor for another mandate but Antonio may be looking into becoming a governor and run against Arnold…

I wanted to repost the earthquake prediction made in December 2008 as a reminder that we are due for a couple of good ones in a couple of years! Baja Mexico just got a 7.2 today Easter Sunday and it is important to keep ourselves prepared.

Posted by sylviesteinbach | April 5, 2010, 5:42 amHi Sylvie, I can’t help but notice that the major pandemic you prophecized back in 2010 has finally erupted in the spring of this year, 2014, in the Ebola crisis in West Africa that may turn into a global threat due to lax travel restrictions. Hopefully more severe restrictions will soon be in place to reduce the risk of further global exposure to the deadly virus.
